"We are so happy to be your first guests! We had a relaxing time while at Gosling Pond. I particularly enjoyed relaxing by the pond and feeding the fish. We came to see a concert at Bethel Woods, but we enjoyed so much more! You have done a great job with Gosling Pond and you are a great Hostess!" Thank You, David & Polly, Hampsted, MD."
"Pleasantly unique bed and breakfast...I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts and found most to be one like the other. Every once in a while I stumble upon one with its own flair. This is the case with Gosling Pond Inn.."
"First time at a bed and breakfast and loved it. We were in the area for my father's memorial/funeral. We originally had reserved the guest house and 1 apartment but at the very last minute (after checking in) decided to rent an additional apartment due to the large size of our party. Kate very graciously accommodated our last minute request. The other reviews are far more eloquent than I, but we were quite pleased with the accommodations. The guest house was roomy and comfortable and very clean, as were the apartments. The breakfast, hand delivered, was excellent. I would love to come back under better circumstances with more time to enjoy the surroundings." Linda, Glenmoore, Pennsylvania Nov 30, 2010
"Soho Meets the Catskills! Your property is absolutely beautiful...Resting in the Hammock after a long stressful week felt like heaven. Our morning walk/jog to town each day was such a delight. Our horse riding lessons were amazing. We were surprise by how much there is to do in this area. All the nature I hoped for with the comforts of home made for a perfect getaway that is not that far away. Thank you again for the special extra care you gave us (especially the breakfast)!" ~ Bill & Theresa & Matthew, Port Washington, NY October 2010
"What a lovely oasis from NYC! Thank you for all the love and care you infused into this B&B. We really enjoyed the spacious getaway, awesome food, & picturesque surroundings. We loved the pond! Such a joy to meet you!" ~ Blessings, Deborah, NYC
"A lovely B&B that offers much more than a bed and breakfast My family gathered at Gosling Pond over Christmas weekend to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. We ranged in age from 10 - 80. It is a beautiful spot, and the rooms (or rather apartments) have all been arranged and appointed with taste and whimsy, with plenty of room to hang out, and full kitchens for cooking your own food. It was a great place for our family to gather, offering plenty of space and great facilities to manage our large group. Kate, the hostess, is delightful and clearly tuned in to taking great care of her guests. I believe we were the first winter-time guests, and we got hit with the big day-after Christmas snow and wound up staying an extra day. Kate was so helpful, even taking some of us to town to pick up some extra food for our gang. This is a great place for just a couple, a small family with young kids or teens, as well as larger groups like ours. Kate's focus on quality, local food really appealed to me when I found the place on-line, and was greatly enjoyed and appreciated during our stay. I spent many, many hours searching on-line for the right spot for my family to gather. Gosling Pond was an absolutely wonderful find!" ~ Amy, Bozeman Mt December 2010
"Comfy and Quiet ~ Just right for our Family Reunion for Grandpa's 80th Birthday Gosling Pond is a beautiful setting with cozy accommodations. The rooms are clean and "well appointed." Kate Kennedy, the owner and manager, has a keen eye for interesting and unique but comfortable furnishings and decor and this is reflected in all of the units. The "breakfast" part of this Bed & Breakfast was always yummy and arrived promptly each morning, delivered personally by Kate. The menu included fresh eggs, a wide assortment of muffins, rolls, and croissants, and interesting jams and jellies. Oatmeal was available on request. Each unit has its own stash of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The kitchens are also equipped for cooking and baking, and Kate can usually help procure anything you need but can't find already there. Family size shampoo, etc. are available in each bathroom (but bring your own toothpaste). It might be a little rustic for some in the wintertime, but I'm guessing it's delightful during the other seasons. During our visit this cold, wet, and snowy December, Kate bent over backwards to help make our stay warm and comfy and to drive us into town for food shopping when we stayed over an extra night (rather than drive back to NYC which was in the midst of a record-breaking blizzard). The location is convenient to ski resorts and other winter activities. Had the weather been more cooperative we would have taken more than just brief walks in the woods and spent more time outdoors playing with the owner's friendly dogs by the pond. There were some nice shops in town and some interesting restaurants not too far away. There's also an arts center and a yoga/meditation center in the area. My extended family enjoyed our wintry reunion (we converged upon Gosling Pond from Queens, Long Island, Montana, and California) and I hope to return there in the future for more reunions, family vacations, and maybe even a quiet romantic getaway just for two." "We had a wonderful time here at Gosling Pond. It was a treat having the place to ourselves and also being able to see the work you've done on the house & the other Units. "Benji & Jakes" and "Matthew's on Main" were excellent recommendations! ~ The Helfman Family, Annapolis, MD"
"Each unit is spacious and well-appointed. From my perspective the kitchen provides everything a good chef can think of. When we arrived we found coffee and cream in the fridge; just what we needed. In the morning we received a knock on the door and Kate handed us a breakfast tray with fresh eggs, breads from the local bakery, yogurt with locally grown berries and other goodies." ~ Karen G.
"Thank you so much for creating this beautiful space. We had a wonderful time here, in particular chatting with you and feeding the fish. We look forward to seeing you again in late August. All the best" ~ David, NYC
"My kind of Bed & Breakfast Looking for a place to stay near Jeffersonville in upstate New York the night before our arrival on Thanksgiving 2010 might have been difficult. We could have ended up in a creaky and stuffy faux-Victorian Bed & Breakfast, where small children are frowned upon, bathrooms are shared and the house rules are gospel, and legion. Instead, we settled on Gosling Pond, a B&B offering four charming but modern self-contained, well-appointed and generously-sized units at comparable rates, a perfect fit for a family looking to read, watch TV and cook in different rooms. The place is clearly lovingly cared for, with comfortable, functional and aesthetically pleasing furniture matched and arranged just so, a nicely equipped kitchen and bath and even a down comforter. In other words, this is the place that may reasonably invoke the worn slogan of a "home away from home" but has the good taste not to. And if that wasn't enough, the morning brought a breakfast worthy of the name: scrumptious, wholesome, plentiful and hand-delivered. We loved everything about our stay! NYC" ~ NY Nov 28, 2010
"Thank you Kate for everything! With your precise directions it was easy to find. We loved the fresh fruits, vegetables and "Blue" eggs. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed you property and hospitality. I have now found a place in The Catskills to stay". Thank you again, Lucia P.
"We concur with your previous guests' assessment of so many things. It is a marvelous setting and your decorating is great! Breakfast was scrumptious. Very romantic. Best of luck, we'll be back!" Richard, Rye Brook, NY
